A telescope you can carry out already assembled gets used far more, because setup time is the main reason people do not observe on a marginal night. A case protects the optics and makes travel to dark skies practical. Leave it set up if you have somewhere safe and can carry it in one trip; use a case if you travel with it or store it anywhere dusty.

How long does a telescope take to cool?
Anything from twenty minutes to over an hour depending on aperture and the temperature difference. Views improve markedly once it has, so putting it outside early is the cheapest upgrade available.
Should I clean my mirror?
Rarely. Dust on a mirror has almost no effect on the view, and cleaning risks scratching the coating. Most amateurs clean a mirror every few years at most.
Does storing it in a cold shed help?
It removes cooling time, which is a real advantage, provided the shed is dry. Damp storage is far worse for optics than cooling time is good.
